Take 8, Day 1: I Missed Again
I didn't want to but I couldn't,
I could have but I haven't;
I wasn't in control,
PC used by all;
Unless I insisted,
Lonely hearts created;
I missed posting yesterday,
But I'm done for this day.
Each day I'll write, A poem that's bright; Or dim, maybe, Next year we'll see.
I didn't want to but I couldn't,
I could have but I haven't;
I wasn't in control,
PC used by all;
Unless I insisted,
Lonely hearts created;
I missed posting yesterday,
But I'm done for this day.

It's almost midnight,
Just logged in tonight;
Checked out Farm Town,
But it gave a sad frown.
I realized, though,
My deadline, I know;
A minute left,
Today's entry, inept.

I tried a search some six hours ago
From Mr. G, the word poegging
While most of the hits, I do know
There is one that's somehow inspiring
If you check the sidebar of this site
I coined the word poegging
It did not exist when I started to write
The search result was rather exciting
Immediately I checked my browser
If poegging dot com was taken
Happy with Page Load Error
Poegging dot com was still open
I went straight to GoDaddy
But my PayPal was two dollars short
I searched for a discount entry
My new domain's 7.69 worth
This site will still continue
For the purpose it was meant to be
Poegging dot com will start new
All entries poegged spontaneously
I've already applied for hosting
I invite you to visit the new site
I might make contests for poegging
So you can spontaneously write

Yesterday we had our Church summer outing,
It's always fun though a bit tiring;
We only had a day tour,
Not overnight, unlike before.
81 of us attended though 83 signed up,
The weather was hot you'd need a cap;
The first time we actually went public,
Some of them had minds that are sick.
The sign said, no eating or drinking by the pool,
Nor smoking, nor diving, I thought that was cool;
Some sick people publicly disobeyed,
The right to disobey doesn't apply when you paid!
Though we rather had a private setting,
We had to think of what's open, and financing;
Though one of my girls lost her new pair of slippers,
Opportunity is there to let our light shine, even with glitters. :)

I just went through all my blogs,
If I missed any, I don't have logs;
One of them, C5 Says,
Updated to latest Wordpress.
I also got all my blogs listed,
I tend to forget, at least I've noted;
It would be easy now I'm sure,
To update other blogs, the list is a cure.

If your goal will not hurt anyone,
You are sleepy, brainwaves wan;
You've lagged for quite a long time,
And at times you're lost for rhyme;
You know that it's quite a feat,
To set a record that's hard to beat;
If at times you had to stop,
Recoup yourself, don't just give up.
(a message to myself)

There is an online opportunity,
Which can pay you miles or money;
Exchange for gift card or prepaid gas card,
Or check, money order or prepaid visa card.
It is free to join and you get five dollars bonus,
Not so bad to start working with us;
If you are from the US, consider yourself lucky,
Lots of opportunities are for you to take freely.
There are offers available for international members,
Just like me, I sift through all their offers;
It is easy to spot if I qualify,
You will need even just an eye.
You can join contests and take promos available,
Click on ads, read emails that are fuel-injectable;
When you tell your friends, you'll also be credited,
They're called hitchhikers, you'll want them to ride instead.
What are you waiting for? Get your five-dollar share!
You won't be sorry, such an opp is rare;
Oh, you need not have a blog to earn from it,
You just have to work, the site is legit.

It's a quarter to eleven,
My eyes are peeping heaven;
I almost forgot today's poegging entry;
Because of the fact that I'm so sleepy.

I'm getting old but not THAT old,
Yet my memory fails me;
Sometimes I just have been told,
In minutes I'd figure out reality.
Give me a list of a hundred things,
I can memorize all, even what comes before and after;
But that's because there's a system I'm using,
If it's figurable, I can find the answer.

Friends I never thought I'd see,
After so long a time, with much glee;
Childhood friends, and even kin, we met again,
Everytime I sign in, I check who's in.
Busy I may be but friends are important too,
Over the time that flew it's nice to catch up with you;
Online updating made life of connecting,
Knowingly easy, fun and exciting.

I have been sleeping soundly,
In my grave of oblivion;
My admirers forgot about me,
I'm faint but will carry on.
All of a sudden I was a thought,
My creator then decided;
Right now I was sought,
At "Publish," I am resurrected.

Chocolates nor roses he gave not,
But a poem he wrote, my heart he got;
He wasn't much of a poem writer,
But his poem got my yes for an answer.
I see him more as a guitar player,
All sorts he can play, he was a rocker;
At a moment's notice he changed to classical,
Now he can play both, it feels magical.

Today I'm flooded,
Tired, I'd like to be abed;
All sorts of bills, grand,
Without the funds at hand.
It's one of those days,
That's common, always;
I'm like a butterfly,
Halfway out the cocoon to fly.
It's part of those training days,
Optimism upheld, it stays;
It's part of life, I know,
Should overcome it with glow.

Tonight's the last night,
To score highest, I'll go fight;
It's the prize I really need,
I'm living the poverty's creed.
See the picture above,
The cheque is what I love;
The trophy beside it,
Will my hands match the feat?

Today I was surfing for ways of monetizing,
I need more money, so contests I tried finding;
I clicked here and there, from Google's search result,
Until I reached a link to a contest that made me halt.
So now I am here, I just signed up today,
Poetry Soup it's called, I think it will make my day;
I do have a blog, poegging is what I do,
It's blogging poetically, my own coined term too.
You might want to visit my humble home,
365-days-of-poem-blogging dot blogspot dot com;
It's actually a challenge to write a poem every day,
This is the second for today, I'll add it there, okay?
Before I forget I'd like it acknowledged,
What a wonderful site Poetry Soup has managed;
I know there are poetry scams that linger around,
I hope this site's contest is for real, to abound.
*I just joined. Of course my time reckoning here is +8.*

Esther Grace is turning eight this October,
A mix of elder siblings together;
She's got very keen memory,
Can be domineering, her siblings agree.
Living up to her name, she's like Queen Esther
Who did not fear the foreseeable danger;
A natural leader is what I can see,
With the right guidance, she can grow up to be.
Competition can make her day,
Your patience can be tested today;
Born when we were financially poorest,
Yet God's grace blessed this girl as fairest.

She is my miracle baby,
Why? I'll tell the story;
How twenty three weeks old,
In my womb survives another gold.
Ovarian cyst ruptured inside me,
It did not scatter miraculously;
The loss of our baby was more likely,
Mother and child survived rarely.
But God was so gracious and kind,
I know He's got a lot more in His mind;
Myrrh Raquel was delivered normally,
By the same midwife who delivered Wrestley.
My Raqy was born in February,
She's a bit slow and sickly;
Perhaps the kick of general anesthesia,
But always survived all the hoopla.
She is so smart when it comes to money,
I see the entrepreneur of the family;
Patience is high but gritting inside,
Especially when her sisters jokingly deride.
She loves to sing Josh Groban songs,
Very shy to perform where I think she belongs;
She ape's Mr. Bean, she's really so funny,
The stage is for her, but she plays not for many.

My eldest daughter, Wrestley,
Academic, among the three;
She turned thirteen last April,
Time flies so fast like a whirl.
Reminiscing her inside me,
She moved so restlessly;
Heartbeat's fast, the midwife said,
I'm going to have a boy instead.
At four months I told my employer,
I had to quit to care for my daughter;
Full attention is what she needed,
To raise her up as my God intended.
I remember so vividly,
Too many tricks she learned from me;
At eighteen months she plays with a PC,
At two her hand knows A-B-C.
What used to be my little baby,
(Now the eldest among three;)
Is now grown up and still fast growing,
The lessons in life, she is now learning.

Blogging efforts of What's On My Mind,
Is now paying off, I am extra kind;
Xoom zoomed over my delivery,
In just one day, I got my money.
I gave the kids some extra today,
My phone bill's crying, "When will you pay?"
A pair of jeans, I'll give my hubby,
I'll treat my kids to Jollibee.
